What measures are being taken?

A number of measures have been introduced in both the Efteling Park and Hotels/ Resorts, in alliance with the Dutch guidelines from the National Government and RIVM (Dutch Ministry of Health). These guidelines are in agreement with the  ‘Veilig Samen Uit’ (Safe Together) which offers three guarantees:

1. We ensure a minimum social distance of 1.5 meters between households.

Efteling will ensure guests have all the space they need to maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters. With over 177 acres, the equivalent of approximately 140 football pitches, Efteling Park will only allow a limited number of visitors each day, with a online ticket reservation system in place to reserve your visit in advance. This way we will be able to guarantee that everyone has the space they need during their day out.

2. Sufficient and clear information.

We will clearly explain how guests can go out together while ensuring safety measures are adhered to. More information can be found on the screens and signs in the Park, Hotel or Holiday Villages. In addition, all Efteling employees are being continuously trained to ensure all guest's are safe and are on hand to help with any questions.

3. Extra hygiene measures will be provided.

Central disinfection points are being installed and contact points such as railings and door handles will be cleaned more often. If necessary, personal protective equipment can be provided. By adhering to the aforementioned guarantees, a day out to Efteling will be just as safe as it was before.

Can I visit the park with friends or people from different households?

This is indeed allowed providing you follow all of the Dutch public health measures, such as the 1.5-metre social distancing rule. This means that you are not allowed to wait together in the waiting zones or visit the attractions together.

Please note, you will also need to book a separate time slot for each friend/household and observe the 1.5-metre social distancing rule throughout your visit.

Children aged 12 years and younger do not have to maintain a distance of 1.5 metres, the same also applies for guests aged 17 and under.

Are restaurants open?

Yes, Efteling's terraces and restaurants are now open again, and have been adapted in line with the Dutch public health guidelines.

Please note that online reservations are currently not being accepted for Pinocchios's Pizza & Pasta Restaurant and will instead work on a walk in basis. You are also welcome to visit the other restaurants onsite on the day itself without making a reservation beforehand. Restaurant opening hours can be found on the Efteling app, where you will also be able to order food on from a selection of restaurants.

How can I avoid long queues?

The free Efteling app will show you the current waiting times at each attraction, so you can see where the queues are shortest.

Can I bring my own food and drinks in the Park?

You can indeed, however please note this cannot be consumed in the Park's catering locations and terraces.

Are gluten-fee options available at the Park?

There are a number of gluten-free options available in the Park, including the Eigenheymer locations, Fabula restaurant, Frau Boltes Küche restaurant, Het Wapen van Raveleijn reastaurant, Het Witte Paard self-service restaurant, Panorama, Pinocchio's pizza & pasta restaurant, Polle's Keuken restaurant, Station de Oost restaurant, Smulpaap snackbar, and Toko Pagode takeaway.

How long are my entry tickets valid?

The validity for all Park entry tickets will be stated on each individual ticket.

What happens if I have lost my ticket?

Visitors are responsible for their own ticket and will not be reimbursed should they lose them.

Are pets allowed in the Efteling Park?

Pets are not allowed into Efteling, but there is a free kennel service for dogs near the main entrance. Your dog will be well looked after, however please note this service does not include food or dog walking services. Visitors are also asked to bring a pillow/blanket or basket with them for their dog.
